Randy is a certified Hunter Douglas installer with extensive knowledge and expertise to best serve our Atlanta-based designers and clients. He has extensively trained with the area’s best drapery makers and designers, Hunter Douglas, The Shade Store, Restoration Hardware, Ethan Allen, Haverty's, Bassett and dozens of independent and award-winning designers around Metro-Atlanta -- truly an Installation Guru with 15 years of experience.

No one… not even a designer, sees window architecture and window treatments through the trained eye of an installer. That installation lens is key and what differentiates HRI from the rest. It lends itself to being able to set clear expectations with clients and designers about what type of treatment works best for their windows and what to consider to avoid collision between form and functionality.

Randy is about as chill as they come. His easy going style has earned him a nickname from local designers… they call him “Installation Xanax.” Don’t mistake chill for anything else though - Randy is the most thoughtful and efficient installer in the area.

After the market crash of 2008 left many job searching and soul searching, a friend who left his retail job in box store soft goods asked Randy to join him as his solo window treatment business demanded an extra set of hands. Over the years it became Randy’s full-time job.

When it came time to legitimize the business and come up with a name, Handy Randy Installation carried a nostalgic feel. “Haaaaandy Raaaandy” was what a long time family friend with funny name would bellow from his cabin near Craig’s Creek, VA whenever he needed help lifting or fixing something. Eventually, the name evolved to HR Installation (HRI for short).
